The Chenille Nymph is one of the easiest patterns to tie and probably one of the first that a novice fly tyer will attempt after a buzzer. The pattern can represent a variety of aquatic insects including leeches and damsel nymphs or as a general lure pattern. It can be tied in a variety of colours to suit the conditions and an orange variety can work well when conditions are bright.

An effective pattern all season, it can be tied with or without bead eyes, gold bead head or even lead wire under the body allowing the pattern to be fished at varying depths.
