Originally tied by Victor Furse and said to be named after the Vauxhall Viva car. The Viva is a very popular lure that has a retutation for taking trout when other lures fail. There are many variations to the Viva that include using Fritz for the body and adding sparkle into the wing, but the plain 'ol green and black colour scheme can be deadly, especially early in the season when fished on an intermediate or sinking line.

My own experiences include taking Jack Pike on a slow-retrieved Viva at Ravensthorpe!
